The Calgary Mini-Mutts is a fantastic monthly playgroup held for dogs 25lbs and under. The pups get an opportunity for unstructured playtime with other small dogs, with no fear of getting squished by larger furry friends. The playgroups are a great way to keep our babies socialized and give the opportunity for new human friendships to grow as well. With the prices of dog boarding/dog sitting, it's another added stress when you're thinking of going out of town (or maybe you just need a break from being a parent). Some of the more affordable dog sitters are questionable and - let's face it - sometimes it's hard just leaving your dog with stranger(s). This group is meant for people to meet other dog owners, socializing our dogs, and, ultimately, serve as a dog sitting exchange.

Sometimes our big dogs have a hard time keeping friends! We know they just want to play, but the other dogs in the park think they are just too big! We'll meet as often as people want to in dog parks. Perhaps we could invite guest speakers, have training information sessions from behavior specialists, share resources of places that will accept our gentle giants (or not so gentle when they are puppies), perhaps share dog sitting.
